My name is Mrs. Brannon and I teach first grade at Youngs Grove Elementary. I will be starting my seventh year teaching, and five of those have been in first grade. I graduated from Shorter University in 2011 with a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and Piedmont College in July 2017 with a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education. I am currently going to Piedmont College for a Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
My passion is teaching and I absolutely love what I do and seeing the growth that my students make each year. I believe that teaching is based on the belief that learning needs to be student centered and that students need to be equal partners in the learning process. I hold myself and my students accountable for their learning process and set high expectations for each one of my students. I believe it is imperative to establish a positive relationship with my students so they know that I care about them and their educational career. I believe that with a positive partnership with parents, the success of the student is endless. I foster a classroom environment that is safe, welcoming, encourages critical thinking skills and team work. I believe that when students feel safe, encouraged, and know that expectations are high, great things happen! I also want to always continue to grow and learn as an educator and give my students the best education that I can provide. |
